Song Review: I DO by G(I)-DLE
(G)I-DLE managed to deliver a convincing English single through ‘I DO’ that gave full spotlight to their vocal delivery and the classic melodies of the top line.

A bunch of short reviews- EXO, ENHYPEN, ARTMS, Kim Sungkyu (INFINITE), U-KISS, IVE, NMIXX
There have been too many K-pop releases recently for me to make individual posts on each of them, so I decided to compile a series of mini-reviews on these songs I have yet to cover.

In-Depth Debut Album Review: YOUTH IN THE SHADE by ZEROBASEONE
‘Youth In the Shade’ is a strong and cohesive body of work, promising excellence and a bright future. Already, it feels fresh among the current K-pop soundscape, with only select few groups currently doing a similar sound.

Song Review: In Bloom by ZEROBASEONE
ZEROBASEONE has managed to successfully deliver my favourite debut title track of 2023 through ‘In Bloom’, going from strength to strength as it mixes both modern and more traditional songwriting and production flourishes that make it an easy stand out among what K-pop currently has to offer.

Song Review: Do It Like That by TXT and the Jonas Brothers
Though ‘Do It Like That’ is a well-executed piece of pop, HYBE’s vocal processing removes point for both TXT and the Jonas Brothers to even have a collaboration, at least in the musical sense.

Song Review: Super Shy by NewJeans
‘Super Shy’ is another strong addition to NewJeans’ discography, but I’m not sure if it stands among their best hits.

Debut Review: ‘Shhh’ and ‘Bye My Neverland’ by KISS OF LIFE
Given the excellent solos (bar Haneul, sorry) from the KISS OF LIFE members, I was extremely curious to see how their group songs would sound like. Unfortunately, it seems like I will be playing the solos a lot more in my own time, but it is not like the group songs don’t have their merits.

Song Review: Hear Me Out by EXO
‘Hear Me Out’ is quite a successful song with a couple of things that prevent it from being a remarkable stand out.

Song Review: Rollercoaster by NMIXX
‘Rollercoaster’ offers a more subdued sound from NMIXX that still packs a surprising punch in its chorus. Playing between two different melodic themes between its verses and chorus, I’m fond of its commitment to stick to the album’s concept while not sacrificing the song’s hooks.

Song Review: Bet On Me by ITZY
‘Bet On Me’ is a welcome shift of ITZY’s sound that suffers from mishaps that prevent it from fulfilling its full potential as heartfelt anthem of self-empowerment.
